Ask who? God! Jesus tells us to ask God in his
name, believing, and it will be granted to us. However, there are two
main conditions for approaching God's throne to ask for things...
- We must believe in who he says he is (it's not about us, or our limitations).
If you believe God is the creator of the universe (and the creator of
you!) then your petition is nothing for him. He is a good God, and he
likes to give good things to his children! We must recognize who we are
praying to, the only true God and a good Father - a God that has no
limits, restraints or boundaries. A God that gave up his life for us
and loves us! There is nothing too hard for him!
- We must pray according to his will.
How do you know his will? You can learn his will by reading the
Bible. Believe what he says in his word. Discover God's character by
reading about him, being enlightened by his Holy Spirit. Afterward, you
will be able to ask God according to his will...and if you ask
according to his will then you KNOW it will be done and you will have
your request. We must believe that we have received it - even if it is
not manifested on earth yet. For we walk by faith and not by sight.
Most importantly, ask God's Holy Spirit to help you in prayer, for the
Spirit of God teaches us all things and intercedes for us. Bottom line,
whatever God desires for you is good! But you MUST ask.
Scripture base (Bible verses):
- "But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he
that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)
- "Behold, I am the LORD , the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27)
- "For
I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD , thoughts
of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." (Jeremiah
29:11)
- "For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be
thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What
things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and
ye shall have them." (Mark 11:23-24)
- "Likewise the
Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered." (Romans 8:26)
- "And
whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may
be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do
it." (John 14:13-14)
- "If
a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a
stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or
if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being
evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more
shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
(Luke 11:11-13)
- "These things have I written unto you
that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye
have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of
God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any
thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear
us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we
desired of him." (1 John 5:13-15)
Let this sweater be a reminder of our rights as children of God! We
get to approach his throne boldly, only by the blood of Jesus, to ask
our good Father in heaven for help. Thank you Lord Yeshua for this
privilege of prayer and communion with the Holy Spirit. Let us ask,
believe and receive in Jesus name!
