No Evil - Kids Fleece Hoodie

We know the old saying, see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil - the three wise monkeys.  Some people may base this saying on buddhist teaching or other religions.  But this really comes from God's word, the bible.  In scripture, we are told not to walk not in sin, because sin is death.  We are to walk in the light, and Jesus is the light.  Anything that goes against God's word is sin. 

We are to teach our children to depart from sin and cling to God, and whats one way of doing this?  Teaching children to guard their bodies and mind from sin; to guard their gates. 

Our eyes, ears and mouths are gates.  No evil or sin should be coming into them, nor should we be speaking evil.

• EYES (RECEIVING): The bible says our eyes are like a lamp to the body, children (and us) are to guard what we watch - whether that's tv shows, movies etc.  When you watch evil or sin, you are allowing sin into your body - which brings darkness.
• Scripture base (Bible verse): “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" (Matthew 6:22-23)
• EARS (RECEIVING): The ears, the music we listen to affects us, who knows music well? Lucifer.  Before he became Satan he was beautiful and God formed the tabrets (musical instruments) and pipes that he used to worship God in HIS BODY (Ezekiel 28:13).  He was music to the lord, before sin was found in him.  He infiltrates music, and gets into our minds through music!  Check the lyrics of the music you and your children are listening to.  Only listen to, and hear, what is from God.  Stop your ears from hearing sin, but open them up to God's word and his Holy Spirit.  
• Scripture base (Bible verse): "But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and covered their ears. They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the Lord Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the Lord Almighty was very angry." (Zechariah 7:11-12)
• MOUTH (GIVING): What about our mouths?  Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.  If you are meditating on sinful things, or hold hatred or unforgiveness in your heart, then it will come out of your mouth.  Whatever you receive in your eyes, ears, mind and heart will come out of your mouth!  This is why God says renew your mind daily, and tells us to have a softened heart.  Renew your mind with his word, the bible, so that blessings come out of you (and your children's) mouths.  God tells us to speak life, not death.
• Scripture base (Bible verse): "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." (Luke 6:45)
• Scripture base (Bible verse): "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." (Proverbs 18:21)
